The Berenstain Bears 5-Minute Inspirational Stories

Image
I don't know about you, but I grew up reading Berenstain Bears books and watching the cartoon. My son has a few of the books now so naturally I was drawn to this book. There are 12 stories included in this book and we literally love them all. The lessons in each story are easy for smaller kids to understand (my oldest is 6) and that is very important for these sorts of lessons in my opinion. The topics range from God's love, forgiving, courage, among others. The stories bring out typical situations in a child's life between family and friends so it is easy for a child to grasp the concepts trying to be relayed. Written by the famous Stan and Jan Berenstain, these family classics are a great addition to any families book shelf. Learning how to be a faithful friend, forgiving others, and realizing God's love for each of us are important things to learn. This book has all of those in one beautiful, hard covered volume. It is bigger than I expected, measuring at 10.8 x...

I Will Follow Jesus by Judah and Chelsea Smith

I Will Follow Jesus  by Judah and Chelsea Smith is a beautifully illustrated children's Bible Storybook. It contains easy to read and understand stories from the New and Old Testaments including some of the most popular like Noah and the Ark, Daniel and the Lion's Den and the Story of Jesus's death and resurrection. Judah and Chelsea Smith take the stories from the Bible and re-write them into an easy to understand and an easy to follow format that is much easier for children to understand. They include the point of reference's from the Bible, i.e. the scripture reference, so you can go back and read the full story if you wish. At the end of each section/story they include and I Will Follow Jesus page with a short overview of the story just read and a small prayer for kids. I enjoy this for Benjamin because it is so simple to understand and much more in-depth than some of the story book Bible's I have gotten in the past. The illustrations are eye catching and...

God Bless Our Fall by Hannah C. Hall

Image
God Bless Our Fall by Hannah C. Hall, illustrated by Steve Whitlow is a book that is charming, bright and tells us what wonderful things that can be enjoyed in the fall that we can be thankful to God for. This book is great for children as they can easily relate to the sweet little animals in the book as they enjoy the wonderful things fall brings. This book was a win as soon as I saw it. The colors are bright yet the illustrations are soft. The font is large enough for a small child learning to read to easily do so. I really enjoy how the story goes through different instances of how fun fall really is, whether it just be chilly to the good food and even the fun festivals that happen this time of year. My 4 year old absolutely loves it and pages through the boardbook on his own. He loves pointing out the small animals and stating what they are doing before I even read the page. It is short enough to keep any small childs attention, yet long enough to be totally worth it....
