October 15th marks Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness Day. This came to pass when Ronald Reagan, in 1988, proclaimed October to be National Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness Month. In his words: "When a child loses his parent, they are called an orphan. When a spouse loses her or his partner, they are called a widow or widower. When a parent loses their child, there isn't a word to describe them. This month recognizes the loss so many parents experience across the United States and around the world. It is also meant to inform and provide resources for parents who have lost children due to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, stillbirths, birth defects, SIDS and other causes." The Beginner's Bible Kid Sized Devotions by ZonderKidz Illustrated by Kelly Pulley is a great way to introduce your child to devotions in general. It starts off with the creation of the world in Genesis and ends in Revelations. Kid Sized Devotions takes a child through the Bible through simple language and stories right out of the Good Book to help them grasp more firmly who God is and the great people of the Bible. Each devotional starts off with a short scripture then goes on with a short description of the passage and what is being conveyed.  They also have a beautiful picture depicting the passage, which helps with the visual aspect of learning in small children. They then end in a short prayer for the child to read or repeat. At the very end of the book it goes through the ABC's of salvation, but this version is A-Z. I love my kid, don't get me wrong. He is one of the most brilliant little persons I have ever met. I am truly blessed to be able to stay at home with him since we moved to Minnesota and in this time I have seen my little boy blossom into a sweet, caring individual. That being said, today was one of those days. You know, since my husband works 5 days a week from dawn until past dusk, I raise our child alone all but 2 days a week UNLESS by a miracle my husband takes a vacation day but that would only be 5 days out of the year. So yeah, it gets tough. The truth of it is, I get frustrated. I get annoyed. I get angry. And tonight was one of those nights. Some days I just feel overwhelmed by the fact that I am always with him, not always home, but usually. I cannot wait to buy a house by the end of the year! For REAL!  I don't like to be touched constantly, a human jungle gym or being yelled at because suddenly today he hates his ravioli's. I know it is a bless...
