I Will Follow Jesus by Judah and Chelsea Smith

Image
I Will Follow Jesus  by Judah and Chelsea Smith is a beautifully illustrated children's Bible Storybook. It contains easy to read and understand stories from the New and Old Testaments including some of the most popular like Noah and the Ark, Daniel and the Lion's Den and the Story of Jesus's death and resurrection. Judah and Chelsea Smith take the stories from the Bible and re-write them into an easy to understand and an easy to follow format that is much easier for children to understand. They include the point of reference's from the Bible, i.e. the scripture reference, so you can go back and read the full story if you wish. At the end of each section/story they include and I Will Follow Jesus page with a short overview of the story just read and a small prayer for kids. I enjoy this for Benjamin because it is so simple to understand and much more in-depth than some of the story book Bible's I have gotten in the past. The illustrations are eye catching and...

I Am Nothing On My Own

Lately, I have been pondering a few things. Benjamin and I listen to what I call "Story Time" on the radio. I've listened to it since I was a kid. It has great programs related to God and just good morals they teach kids within the hour and a half program. One of the stories sparked a question inside me. It was about two boys who were talking about their churches and how they would hand out materials to others. One of the boys thought that was his way of earning his way into heaven, while the other boy disagreed and said he just did that to bring others to the Lord. Do I really need Jesus? Does my life spell out the fact that I can't do it on my own? I remember a conversation with a friend who was telling me how she thought it was impressive that I had quit drinking, smoki...

Love

Accepting the Love  "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV I have always struggled with acceptance. Whether it be by friends, family or even my husband. The only person I really feel who accepts me is my little boy, and that is because he is my child. No, I am not saying this to get sympathy; far from it. I know there are others who feel just as I do. It is hard to accept other people's love when you yourself feel inadequate and never good enough for that love. The thing is, with God's love, none of us are deserving of it. Romans 3:23 states that well: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."   I certainly don't deserve it. Of all the things I have done in my life that I know are against His 10 commandments, or other things that we all know are wrong. Like lying or cheating. Most of these the world says are okay. Some of ...
