Beautifully Poor

When I think of Fall, my first thought goes to Apples and Pumpkins. Luckily, we live right down the road from a beautiful little farm that has Apples AND pumpkins (also strawberries in the summer!!!).   Pleasant Valley Orchard   is a beautiful little place that offers a quaint little store with apple products as well as a small barn where they sell home goods (pictured below).               Pleasant Valley Orchard   offers hayrides to pick your own pumpkin and if you just want a hayride you can do that too! It was only $3.50 a ticket and you got to see the beautiful views of the farm along the way.  View on the hayride - look at those clouds! We were able to choose pumpkins from 3 different pumpkin patches and the driver was so kind to help load and unload our pumpkins. Looking for a family friendly event that kids love? The Harlem Globetrotters provide that and so much more! This past weekend myself, my son and his friends were lucky enough to see the Globetrotters at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Ever since I was a little girl I have wanted to experience this and that small dream finally came true. YES, that is our popcorn bucket haha Not only were they family friendly, but funny and they kept the entertainment level at a 10. The two hours flew by and my son and his friends had a wonderful time watching the tricks, dancing and silly antics of the players.  They were extremely good at getting the whole crowd involved and in fact we had face to face interaction with "Animal", "Firefly" and "TNT" quite a few times during the game. Have you ever wanted to visit a castle? How about a castle made of ICE!? Who would have thought such beauty could be made with some water and LED lights! I must say we were more than impressed this year at the beauty that surrounded us as we entered the beautiful, manmade sculpture. I really liked how there was signs around the castles themselves letting patrons know how they were built. I did really wonder how they accomplished this, so was pleased to find out! Handcrafted ice castle? Why not! I found the prices very fair and cheaper than last year. We ended up going on Super Bowl Sunday and needless to say, the crowd was quite thin. I loved it that way! Made for good pictures and the kids could really enjoy the tunnels and slide without the crowds or long lines. We LOVE being outdoors! When it's a free adventure even better. We found a gem of an area to hike, camp and now canoe called Lebanon Hills Regional Park . It is the largest park located in Dakota County, and for us, the most fun!With over 2,000 acres this place is great for swimming, picnicking, mountain biking, geocaching and of course hiking and canoeing among MANY other great activities all year round. Now if you don't have a canoe, kayak or paddleboard, there is an equipment rental right on site at the visitor center and the rentals are a great price! We happen to have our own blow up canoe thanks to my Dad so were able to go on this beautiful excursion for FREE aside from the gas it took us to get there! They provide this wonderful Canoe route that takes about 3 hours (so it says) to do the whole thing. We visited Schulze Lake, Portage Lake and O'Brien Lake.
