Pleasant Valley Orchard - Fall Family Fun!
When I think of Fall, my first thought goes to Apples and Pumpkins. Luckily, we live right down the road from a beautiful little farm that has Apples AND pumpkins (also strawberries in the summer!!!). Pleasant Valley Orchard is a beautiful little place that offers a quaint little store with apple products as well as a small barn where they sell home goods (pictured below).
Pleasant Valley Orchard offers hayrides to pick your own pumpkin and if you just want a hayride you can do that too! It was only $3.50 a ticket and you got to see the beautiful views of the farm along the way.

We were able to choose pumpkins from 3 different pumpkin patches and the driver was so kind to help load and unload our pumpkins. With two adults, one holding a baby, and a six year old, four pumpkins are slightly difficult to carry! For the pick your own pumpkin, they were $5 a piece and they were quite large, though there were smaller ones in the field for those who prefer those. For the experience and the pumpkin, I found it much more fun than the grocery store pumpkin stands! We enjoy the outdoors so this was perfect. They also offer pumpkins by the barns so you don't have to go traipsing in the fields if you don't want to. There were a variety of large and small as well as white ones and heirloom pumpkins.

A brat stand is offered on the weekends, otherwise there are tables to bring your own picnic if you want to make a day of it, or if you are enjoying one the wonderful treats in the store. The caramel apples were fabulous. For a whole list of Fall activities visit this link: Fall Orchard Activities

Pleasant Valley Orchard also has more fun for the kids including a play area of corn, chickens, goats, and I think there were bunnies but they were sleeping.
