    My mom has always been the light in our lives, bringing laughter and joy to any situation, a soft shoulder to lean on, and the answer to everything. In 2012 she suffered a traumatic brain injury and has been in recovery in a nursing home, re-learning her abilities and coming back from a coma and near death. Though she still has a year or two before she may be considered for coming home, she still has a huge smile and lots of love for her kids and grandkids, and hope and positivity for everyone. She still makes everyone laugh and has wit and charm like none other. She will always be our superhero!

    My mom passed away many years ago at a young age. She was so very special in so many ways. She took care of my dad and 6 children while working full-time, and was a wonderful cook and baker. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone. I still miss her every day.

    My mother was such a gentle kind spirit and I see many of her qualities in her youngest sister (my Aunt Charlene) who is also my godmother. I love spending time with my aunt as I feel a kindred spirit and at times feel like I'm with my mother too.

Sometimes one day in our life is just what we need to keep on moving forward. A little inspiration, encouragement and hope entering into our sometimes dismal worlds. Today just happened to be one of those days for me. My family and I went on a short hike at a new park my husband found. We climbed up steep hills meant for mountain bikes and followed small trails intended for wild animals. We were able to explore the woods and enjoy God's beautiful world and enjoy the peace and serenity only that can bring. What touched me most deeply was when Benjamin stopped me about 3/4 of the way through our hike. He pulled my face close to his and whispered in his sweet voice, "Dance with me, momma." So right there in the middle of the woods with only Lawrence looking on, I danced with my 4 year old. My First Giveaway!

Enter To Win! With 2015 finally here, a lot of us have resolutions to make our lives better! Many of us would like to lose weight or quit smoking. I see a lot of fitness goals as well. One of the things I would definitely like to do is have a baby in 2015! We have been trying for awhile now, so with my fingers crossed and if it's God's will, I hope that dream will come true for us this year! If it doesn't, I am going to run the Monster Dash Half Marathon on October 31st. Last year my goal was to run a 5K and I killed that with running 5 of them and a 10K. It was a great summer!
